Kissing Games
Anna has always been a bit stingy with her kisses. So, over the years, I've been known to get my kisses from her by any means necessary. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do, ya know? So, when she was a toddler, I invented "Try to kiss me on the cheek". She would move in to kiss me on the cheek and I would quickly turn my head and get a kiss on the lips. She thought it was great fun. Eventually, she would want me to kiss her on the cheek and she would try to trick me into giving her a kiss on the lips. It was a win-win situation for me! She grew out of that game at around 4. Then this past year, we started betting on stuff. Would Reed be home? Would Reed have mowed the grass while we were out? You get the picture, right? The prize for winning a bet? You got it: Kisses. Gambling isn't so bad when either way you come out on top! Either way, I get to give or get kisses to/from my girl! Since this whole gambling thing started, kisses have now become the prize for EVERYTHING. If we have a drinking contest, the winner gets kisses. If we have a "who can get dressed the fastest?", the winner gets kisses. We played about 50 rounds of paper/scissors/rock the other day and the overall winner got to give kisses to the other person. The funny thing is that Anna usually picks what the "prize" for winning is going to be. And the funny thing is, it doesn't matter who wins because either way we're getting to spend special moments together.
